I Dreamed A Dream – Les Miserables

This beautiful, heart-rending song is sung by Anne Hathaway as Fantine in the 2012 musical drama film, Les Miserables. The film is based upon the well-loved and long-running musical by Alain Boubil and Claude-Michel Schonberg, which in turn, is based upon the 1862 French novel by Victor Hugo. The story revolves around Jean Valjean, a former prisoner who becomes mayor of a town in France. Valjean agrees to take care of Cosette, the illegitimate daughter of Fantine, and must avoid being captured again by Javert, a police inspector who used to be a prison guard.


I created and performed 2 versions – one full, with the recitative at the beginning, and the other an easier version.

AILEE – EVENING SKY

This beautiful song comes from Ailee’s mini album, Invitation, which was released in October 2012. The MV was used as the trailer for the movie Now Is Good (starring actress Dakota Fanning) when it was shown in Korea. Ailee’s lovely and powerful voice expresses the emotions of the touching movie perfectly. Hope you like my piano version 🙂

SHINee – 1000 Years, Always By Your Side

SHINee’s latest Japanese release,1000 Years, is sweet and meaningful, yet showcases the amazing vocal skills of the boys! The MV depicts the boys dressed as Death, worrying about a delay in the schedule for souls crossing over to the afterlife. A loving father (who dies in an unfortunate accident) lingers on beside his ill and depressed son, yearning to help and comfort his family. Eventually, he succeeds in giving his son a final surprise and loving gift – a myriad of colorful balloons filling the sky outside the little boy’s hospital window. And to our 5 boys’ great relief, the loving father’s peaceful spirit makes it just in time to travel harmoniously into the ‘ever-after’. Touching huh? Sniff, sniff! 🙂
