Frozen – Let It Go (Idina Menzel)

Let It Go” is a song from Disney’s 2013 animated feature film, Frozen, with music and lyrics composed by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. The song was performed in the film by American actress and singer Idina Menzel in her role as Queen Elsa. The song appears after an ostracized Elsa abandons her kingdom soon after her cryokinetic powers are discovered by the public. Realizing that she no longer needs to hide her incredibly powerful icy abilities anymore, Elsa declares herself free from the obstacles that she’s been faced with since childhood and rejoices in using her powers without fear. (Extract from Wikipedia)

I’ve had many requests from parents, for sheets and a tutorial for Beginners – young children who can’t play hands together well yet. If you know any kid who loves Let it Go, but can’t play the “usual version” yet, do show him/her this tutorial ok?

Say Something – A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera

Say Something, by American duo A Great Big World, was released in February 2011 . When Christina Aquilera heard it, she loved it and it was re-recorded with her in November 2013. This emotional ballad is about a breakup, where the lover is implored to ‘say something’ that could reverse those plans. I just love the harmony and the strings in the background of the soundtrack 🙂

Auld Lang Syne

Auld Lang Syne is known in most parts of the world today as the song which is sung on New Year’s Eve, just as the New Year begins. The nostalgic lyrics come from a poem written in 1788 by Scot poet, Robert Burns. They speak of old friendships and blood bonds…connections that should be remembered and celebrated even as we move ahead to another year.
I hope this expressive piano solo can help convey my deepest appreciation to my loving family and old friends, as well as my piano students and new friends (viewers and fans of my covers). Thank you all so much for your friendship and support! Have a wonderful New Year ahead!

Demi Lovato – Heart by Heart

Demi Lovato’s latest song, Heart by Heart, is part of the soundtrack for the movie, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. Released on August 21st, the movie follows Clary (Lily Collins), who, after the sudden disappearance of her mother, finds herself in a strange alternate New York called Downworld. She must join forces with a group of Shadowhunters to survive in a world suddenly filled with warlocks, vampires, werewolves and other deadly creatures.

This piano version includes lyrics for those of you who, like me, love to play and sing 🙂 It’s also in an easier key than the original (just one step higher, but so much easier). Hope you’ll enjoy it!
