Lee Seung Gi – Last Word (Gu Family Book OST Part 7)

Lee Seung Gi composed and performed this touching song for the kdrama Gu Family Book, in which he stars with Suzy (Bae Su Ji). The fusion martial arts action historical drama is about a half man-half monster who searches for a centuries-old book that, according to gumiho (werefox) legend, contains the secret to becoming human. The original song is in B major (5 sharps), so I’ve created an easier version (transposed to C major and simplified). Hope you’ll like this piano version.

EXO – Baby Don’t Cry (Full & Easier Versions)

EXO is finally back…with their first full-length album entitled XOXO (kisses and hugs). Baby Don’t Cry remains my favourite track from the album, although they all sound good! I transcribed this with lots of help (tweaking it) from my daughter, who is a keen Exotic…and this song is for her and all the EXO fans who have patiently/not so patiently waited for their comeback 🙂

SHINee – Sleepless Night / Can’t Leave 떠나지 못해

This comes with love to my many Shawol fans, who have been requesting this cover and sheets ever since SHINee released their Dream Girl album, Chapter 1: The Misconceptions of You, in February 2013. Then it was called Can’t Leave. When their Why So Serious? album, Chapter 2: The Misconceptions of Me, was released in April 2013, this lovely song was included under the title Sleepless Night.

YouTuber Rainy Reynah made a lovely arrangement of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=rJsI6GfFmpw and I requested her permission to transcribe it (which she kindly gave). After I finished it, I checked the original soundtrack and started making changes (cos I just can’t resist playing what I hear hehe). It ended up very different in most places, from her arrangement, which doesn’t mean better…just different 😉 So my thanks to Rainy Reynah for being an inspiration…hope you’ll approve of my version too! And hope you guys/gals will enjoy both our versions 🙂

JJ Lin林俊傑 – Before Sunrise 裂縫中的陽光 (10 Untold Stories album)

This is my second cover from JJ Lin’s 10 Untold Stories. The MV tells a beautiful, heart-wrenching story about the lengths to which people will go, to protect their loved ones. To quote, “If life had a syllabus, love would be the final lesson”.

In the MV, JJ Lin’s character volunteers to teach guitar to inmates at a prison. One of the prisoners who requests to be taught is on death-row and wants to return to something familiar before his time is up. The MV chronicles his story as he relives his memories before his execution at sunrise. And the song tells of pain and the hope for second chances. Sniff..sniff 😦

Roy Kim – Bom Bom Bom (Spring Spring Spring)

Roy Kim, the winner of Mnet’s SUPER STAR K season 4, composed and released this super upbeat and cheerful song at the start of spring in April 2013. The song (which translates into Spring Spring Spring) shot to top spot on that week’s Billboard’s Korea K-Pop 100 Chart, overtaking Psy’s Gentleman!
