Fan Mail

I love receiving and responding to fan mail and since putting up my first cover in July 2012, have received many which i have treasured and have been much encouraged by them. I thank you all so very much for your praise, appreciation, suggestions, requests and support.

I thought it would be nice to share some of my favourite emails and comments here on the website. Of course I’ll keep all names anonymous, unless I’m given specific permission to reveal them. If you see your comment here and would rather it remain between the two of us, please let me know… I would totally understand and remove it without hesitation ok?

  2. HI Joyce I can’t express how much I love your talent…For several reasons you are someone who made me start piano again. Truly it’s forever my favorite instrument. I wish you could be my teacher…Anyhow keep up the amazing work your one of my biggest inspirations

  4. Hi Joyce. Gray Paper by Yesung is my favorite and I really enjoyed playing it well. Now, I just found out about your new piano sheet Master Sun’s OST Touch Love. I am very excited to learn and play this score. Very thankful that your piano sheets are available for downloads. It does help a lot improving my piano skills. I will be waiting for your next one….Driving Me Crazy. I am hoping you can also transcribe I Hear Your Voice OSTs. Thank you and you are truly amazing.

    1. Thanks, Lys! So pleased to read your encouraging comment! Yes, I’ll be recording…actually, Re-recording hehe Driving Me Crazy either today or tomorrow. My hubby and I spent one hour on it yesterday, until his laptop battery ran out, but I kept making mistakes haha…so no success 😛 I like the songs from I hear your voice too, but don’t have enough time to cover all that I like! And new songs keep coming out 😉

  5. Wowwww!!!! You’re so amazing and talented!!! I started playing piano 6 years ago and I didn’t take it seriously, so in November when I got a new teacher I am playing more seriously. I want to play moreee songs that are modern like the Kpop ones you posted ^_^ I wasnwondering if you could post any BEAST, NUEST, more DAVICHI, or Super Junior? Thank you soooo much!!! I’m a huuuugeee fan now because you have Kpop sheet music that’s freee and I can download!! Thank you uploading both American and Kpop/Kdrama songs!! There was an OST I was wondering you could do from 49 Days, it was called “Want” sang by Oh Hyun Ran. A specific song that I would like to learn is called Ziugae by Ali or a song called “We Broke Up Today” by and artist called Younha. Thank you so much again!!!!!! XD XD XD

    Hello Joyce! It’s been almost a month since I last emailed you. I just wanna let you know that your recent 4 piano cover uploads on youtube were AWESOME! 🙂 I loved all your amazing covers as always, especially Touch Love by Yoon Mi Rae! After watching Master’s Sun, I totally fell in love with this song! I started searching the web to see if the sheet music was available but no, there weren’t any. So then I tried to see if I could just play the melody and then improvise the harmony a lil’. It somehow worked and I was able to play a simplified version by ear, but I guess it’s the perfectionist side of me that I realised my simplified version of Touch Love felt too empty because the ost had quite a rich harmony and mine was just purely arpeggios of the main chords… :-p

    A week later, I was randomly surfing youtube and then your Touch Love piano cover appeared on my youtube homepage!!! 🙂 I was sooo excited that I literally started jumping up and down lol because I knew that it meant there would be a sheet music available!!!! 🙂 So yeah, I would like to say thank you to your hard work and effort for transcribing beautiful music! Heh, I’m also happy to tell you that I was really happy to be able play your transcribed pieces and yeah I could kind of play it fluently in about 3 days :-p. Haha it’s actually quite slow, considering that I hold a diploma in piano, but recently I haven’t had much time to practice because of schoolwork and all that stuff… Anyways, I’m just really really glad that I found your sheet music for me to practice to while away all my free time haha~

    Oh yes, I almost forgot. “Heart by Heart” by Demi Lovato was AMAZING as well! 🙂 Your cover for it totally blew me away! You’re such a talented pianist/musician! Really, I’m serious! 😀 I watched Mortal Instruments and I fell in love with Demi Lovato’s voice right after! I was sooo glad when your cover + sheet music of “Heart by Heart’ was uploaded! Thankss sooo much once again! 🙂

    Your transcription of The Christmas Song (Chestnuts roasting on an open fire) totally had me hyped up and superrr excited for Christmas! It was beautiful like all your other transcriptions! ❤ I was actually thinking of playing it for my church christmas celebration. Would you mind if I do that? Hehe, if you mind then it's alright, I could always use a different song 🙂 But I just wanna let you know that all of your transcribed pieces are beautiful! 😀

    Another one of your new uploads is Block B "Be The Light". I am quite fond of that song too after my friend introduced it to me, but as of now, I haven't had the time to play it on my piano… but i've already got the sheet music downloaded and saved on my ipad (I do that immediately once new sheet music of yours have been uploaded! I'm a hugeee fan of yours!) , and I even printed a copy for my friend and she totally enjoyed playing it a lot, a word of thanks to you from her too! 🙂

    Oh and with reference to your email previously, yup, I've actually tried out what you have suggested to try and improve my transcribing skills, but it has not really been quite successful… :/ I guess more time is needed for me? Because yeah, I'm always being cooped up by schoolwork and have no time to spare with my exams coming up… even my free time for practicing piano has been cut down by more than 2 hrs! 😦 From 3 hours to about 45 mins-1hr, and to me that's wayyy too short that I don't even have time to practice 2 full pieces well. What do you actually suggest for me to make the most out of my limited practice time? Because normally I use those time to kind of "feed my addiction" to kpop and kdrama ost(s) so yeah i normally practice these songs to keep my spirits up hehe~ 😛

    Once again, I would really like to thank you for your generosity (being able to share your hard work and effort of transcribing to everyone!) and also thank you for always taking the time off to make beautiful piano covers about kpop and kdrama ost(s), english songs etc. despite your busy schedule. Just to tell you, I really really appreciate them a lot and am also very thankful to have come across your youtube channel as well as your website! 😀

    Wow I didn't expect you to reply to my email so quickly! 🙂 Haha I'm sooo happy to know that you're done transcribing 'Driving Me Crazy"! I guess I'm not the only one who asked for it because I just realised there were a few fans of yours that asked for it too on your Touch Love piano cover video comment box :-p I guess i'm pretty late haha~ It will sure be even better than expectations as of all your other transcribed pieces as well as piano covers, I'm sure of it! I'll be waiting for the uploads of your piano covers and sheet music for "Driving Me Crazy"! 😀 Your music always gets me even more hyped up and motivated to practice those beautiful songs! I really HAVE to credit you for my continuing love for music and piano 🙂 because without the sheet music that you have transcirbed for these beautiful kpop/kdrama ost(s), I would have long gotten bored of those classical pieces that I have played since the start of my music journey 12 years ago! 🙂

    And thank youuu for granting me the permission to play your beautiful Christmas Song! 🙂 I'm actually pretty excited to be able to play your wonderful transcriptions for the first time in front of my church-mates and then they will know about the pretty music that you have transcibed! 🙂

    Yup, I actually am still having a lil'' bit of trouble identifying the rhythms and incorporate the harmony from other instruments such as the bass guitar… Ahh I see, so I guess I gotta give myself a bit more time in order to at least improve a teeny weeny bit in those areas hehe! :-p Wow, 8 hours to transcribe a single ost(s) from kdramas is really hard work! And you're still willing to do it and share your transcriptions for free even if it takes up a lot of your time! 🙂 I really have to applaud you for that! *claps* 🙂  If it's me, I would never be able to to it! You're really very very talented! I guess if I were to transcribe a complex piece like kdrama ost(s), It would probably take me more than 3 months… haha~ :-p

  10. Have you ever heard Alien Huang’s Point One Percent (bad translation eek)? I’m still searching for the music…do you think it would be easy enough to transpose? For a beginner (transposer not pianist)? Anyways, YOU ARE AMAZING! I love what you do, and please keep transposing and playing!!!
