I love receiving and responding to fan mail and since putting up my first cover in July 2012, have received many which i have treasured and have been much encouraged by them. I thank you all so very much for your praise, appreciation, suggestions, requests and support.
I thought it would be nice to share some of my favourite emails and comments here on the website. Of course I’ll keep all names anonymous, unless I’m given specific permission to reveal them. Hi Joyce! Because your transcriptions are so beautifully written. I would not want to miss a single post by you. Can you set up some sort of e-mail subscription? Like when i enter my email..then any music sheets or postings will be send automatically to me via email….(I hope you understand what I am saying? Cause I am really ignorant about this networking services..heeeheee)

Hi Joyce. Your music sheets are absolutely wonderful. I have downloaded let it go, first time in forever, do you wanna build a snowman, say something and so much more….there are so wonderful. But i have a question? how do you decide which is the correct note when you are transcribing a pieces which involved many instruments and notes being played at the same time? at first I tried to transcribe For The First Time in Forever – Frozen by myself, but ending up giving up and find the transcriptions at your website? The music is just to complicated! But you did it so well.

Hey Joyce! I love your transcriptions so much!! You have inspired me to try some of my own. I am 14 years old and am trying to transcribe one of my favorite disney songs. Could you give me some tips on how to change the right hand melody into chords instead of having a one-note melody? Also i need some help on deciding which key to use. I don’t know if any of them will work or if I have to find the right one. Please help me out!

In order to change right hand into chords, you first have to find out what chords will fit the melody in that particular bar. For that, you need to listen to the music (from a recording) and identify what chords are being used. If you don’t have a recording, then write the notes that you sing naturally for the melody first….your favorite pitch for that song. Then find chords that will fit (chords containing the notes in the melody). The right hand will use notes from that chord BELOW the melody note. This is really hard to describe properly…It’s something you need to be shown! You should ask your teacher. Or if you don’t have one, search YouTube for “how to choose chords”.
