Sia – Chandelier

Chandelier, written and performed by Australian singer Sia, is from her 6th studio album, 1000 Forms Of Fear. It was released in March 2014.

Many of my viewers have requested it since then, but it was only when I heard the recently released Piano Version that I really got to like it…So this arrangement is based upon the Piano Version, which is in G minor. It’s slower and more expressive (suits me better haha) than the original orchestral version, which is in Bb minor. Hope you’ll like my take on it.

Ariana Grande – Best Mistake

Best Mistake was released on August 12, 2014, as a promotional single from Ariana Grande’s album, My Everything. It features a rap section by her boyfriend, hip hop artist Big Sean. It’s my daughter’s and my favourite song from the album.

The accompaniment has very quick repeated chords throughout most of it. It’s pretty challenging, so for the Easier Version, I chose an easier accompaniment as well as an easier key – the original key has 5 flats – the easier key has none 😉  Hope you’ll all enjoy it.

Shake It Off – Taylor Swift

This catchy, upbeat song by Taylor Swift was released in August 2014 and is very different from her usual country-style. I rarely cover loud and fast beats like this, but the lyrics and message in this song appeal to me. The song speaks about ‘shaking off’ what our detractors and haters say – we can’t control them, but we can control how we deal with it. Good message!

English sheet music taken down

I deeply regret to have to inform you all that as of 5th August 2014, most of my sheet music for English songs have been removed due to copyright claims by the NMPA (National Music Publishers’ Association). I will still be making covers and tutorials, but only the MP3 files will be available for downloading. Sheets of other music (Kpop, Kdrama and games) are still up. And of course, I’ll keep sharing my thoughts, tips and music-related videos and anecdotes on Blog Posts!

So don’t stop dropping by, ok? 🙂 Your support and encouragement as always, are much appreciated!
