Yea, I know. Legally, I’m not allowed to give away my sheets, without paying licensing fee to the various publishing companies. Their legal representatives came after me for copyright infringement. So now, I have to sell them through musicnotes, because they can help me get licensing. I only get a small percent of the sales.

it’s basically just an an app that people use to chat, you can have different channels (similar to SLAC) if you’ve used that.
I know for example, KyleLandry followers have been using that to share sheets. It’d be a great way to also build a community around your transcriptions (in addition to youtube), where we could talk to each other about your work / etc. I (and I’m sure many others) would love to see something like this!

Only problem is, my contract with musicnotes stipulates that I’m not allowed to self-distribute my sheets anymore. They are exclusive distributors. All “Joyce Leong editions” can only be bought/obtained through them.

Yea, that would be against my contract with musicnotes. I can’t even sell it elsewhere, not to mention give it away.

ah.. that’s unfortunate. Anyway, thank for all of your work over the years, I’ve really enjoyed following your work and sharing with my friends. This will probably be my last time on this site and gonna unbookmark since I can’t afford to buy any of these sheets. Wishing you best of luck on everything else you do!

So sorry to hear that. I’ll still be providing some sheets free – those that are public domain, like traditional Christmas carols. Those don’t need licensing. Also Kpop covers, since the publishers haven’t come after me yet.
I’ll also be providing on-screen sheets on my videos, and midi files for those who email me directly at joycemusic1@gmail.com. Don’t know when I’ll have to stop that, but I’ll do that as long as I can.
